Sunrise Commentaryentering a URL - Version: 1.6.4, 2/24/2008 05:49PM PST

corrp
I'm using a MacBook Pro and MacOS X 10.4.11. I saw this app in the weekly VT updates email and decided to try it as a user, not developer. I visited several pages but noticed odd behavior when entering a URL. In all my Mac browsers, I use Cmd-L to highlight the Location field to enter a URL. In Sunrise, if I type "http://" after the second slash the field clears. What?!? If I enter something like "news.google.com" if works just fine completing the URL by adding the "http://" protocol prefix.

Is it just me?

Sunrise ReviewI'm really impressed!!! - Version: 1.5.9, 1/13/2008 12:30PM PST

The last version I loaded was 1.4.9 and there was a bug I reported to the developer: When saving a webarchive of a website made use of stylesheets (with @import) and background images (of layers), then neither the stylesheets nor the background images were included.

This bug is fixed now!!!

I don't know in which version (between 1.4.9. and 1.5.9) but it works great and even Safari can show these webarchives.

That's amazing, since Safari still has this bug (I reported it repeatedly to Apple with every new version/update)

Great work!

Sunrise CommentaryDeveloper's Source Code does not work for latest XCode 2.4.1 - Version: 1.3.5, 8/21/2007 09:02AM PST

I have twice emailed the folks at Sunrise browser about the fact that their source code failed for version 1.3.4 and now for 1.3.5 with 1 error, 5 warnings using the latest 2.4.1 XCode. It is true also that this browser is extremely fast, especially when testing my web site, Relativity Calculator [ www.relativitycalculator.com ], but to say that their source code works for developers is definitely not correct. I am using latest XCode 2.4.1 on my dual - 2.5 gig G5 Mac with MacOS X 10.4.9 and have optimized the directory with DiskWarrior but to no avail. I would still nevertheless recommend Sunrise browser as it holds some future promise as an extremely fast Mac browser. Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com
