Caffeine Browser ReviewFull screen browsing - Version: 1.2.1, 8/16/2006 05:52PM PST

sebasporto
This program is almost what I am looking for. The only thing missing is when double clicking on an image the program should show it full screen. And then I should be able to go to previous and next image using the keyboard.

Caffeine Browser ReviewV1.1 now sorts correctly - Version: 1.1b1, 12/21/2005 10:46AM PST

cravencondor
well they are getting there
sorting now works

it is still a beta with 3 week life -- why even ask for $$

built in editor vey slow and clunky - utterly useless as it stands it also provides no easy way to save edited file back to the original folder, editing with PS works fine and saves to correct folder

program shows potential

Caffeine Browser CommentarySorting Cont'd - Version: 1.0.2, 11/21/2005 01:42AM PST

iGreg
I contacted the author and he says currently it is only "Finder" order for listing of files. Does anyone know what "Finder" order means? I thought it was alphabetical or numerical, abcdef, or 1234, etc. Author does not seem to confirm that. He says he will add sorting preference in next big update.

Bottom line, what is Finder order? Currently, the apparently random order is useless to me.

Seems to display my photos randomly and not in alphabetical or any other kind of order. That doesn't make sense.

Caffeine Browser ReviewMuch better - Version: 1.0.1, 10/21/2005 02:13AM PST

This version seems to fix the bug I had found. It reminds me much of "Curator", which I still use. I would really like to see this product enable one to option+click to open the photo in the application of one's choice, whereas just clicking on the photo would open the standard edit window.

It's a good start for a 1.x version.

I would like to see this size down photos for emailing like PhotoExpress does. Other than that it's cool.

Anyone knows if this is a brand new product from the now defunct Caffeine Software. I loved (and registered) their Curator, still the best image viewing program. If this is the same developer (rumour is that he works on iPhoto for Apple), I would buy this thing straight away.

Clean interface and most of all, what a blazing speed! Despite some functional limitation and bugs, it looks ok for version 1.0. Promising start overall. Just registered it. ;-)
