v1.0 was a bit buggy on my G5, but this v1.1 is just right :) Great little app! It does everything I need under the freeware license. Additional features are available for the paid/registered version.
A perfect app

Saw this on an RSS feed, downloaded, installed and had new icons in the space of 2 minutes. Easiest app I think I've ever used. I was using Candy Bar, but didn't really need 90% of it's functionality. This app also creates decent size ICNS images. Transparency is correct (from Fireworks PNG files). I'm happily going to pay the money to unlock the favicon features (I know there are free online apps for this, but I'm a sucker for helping out developers of inexpensive, quality software).
Can't comment on stability yet - too early to know - but I'm very impressed so far.

Is this now Freeware as it says or does it cost the price it says?
Why can't people here get the terms Freeware, Shareware, Donationware right!

... the freeware FastIcns which I think is the best of it's kind.
Excellent! Does exactly what it's supposed to and does it well!

This is fantastic! After reading some of the tutorials in how to make icons I was expecting it to be a LOT more work... then along comes this utility and now making icons is a BREEZE and it seems to accept all the files I need to throw at it...well done!! I ihighly recommend it!

Download Folders-Full Set which is a complete new set of folder icons to replace all the default blue Apple folder icons on your Mac.

It´s awsome, how simple this program works. Download it, mount the disk image and copy the app to your hard disk, open the application and drop any picture into the drop zone. Then click "Export path" and ready is your new icon.
It got no blown up features, but that quite, what I was looking for. Works under OS X 10.5.2, Intel.
Fantastic. No problems, easy to use, safe and all that for FREE!

I installed as per instructions, and tried both .jpg and .gif images but all I could get was Mac default icons. Until this is addressed, I'm sticking with 0.4 .

Attempting to uncompress img2icns.dmg.bz2 gives the message
bunzip2: img2icns.dmg.bz2: trailing garbage after EOF ignored
Moreover, attempting to open the .dmg file gives the warning: no mountable file systems.
Nor is the file actually gzip.

does exactly what it says. very simple, very clean interface, drag and drop. Lacks documentation and help files, but it is so easy to use it really doesn't need any.
Easily created OS X icns files and even converted them to Windows ico files using GraphicConverter. Way too simple when compared to other more complicated PS methods and plugins. Nice work. Definately recommend this application to anyone looking to make file or folder icons.
