Product Description:

Don’t know about you, but I find browsing a list of album names somewhat uninspiring, to say the least. One of the big appeals of a physical album is the beautiful packaging and aesthetic appeal, something that’s sorely missed with the digital equivalent.

CoverFlow aims to bring that aesthetic appeal to your mp3 collection. It allows you to browse your albums complete with beautiful artwork pulled from any sources it can find, whether that’s buried in your song tags, collected via Synergy, or looked up on Amazon.

What's new in this version:

  • Auto-tracker mode added, to follow the currently playing iTunes song
  • Jump to Currently Playing Album added (Cmd-L)
  • Show Controls option to toggle UI controls visibility
  • iTunes remote controls added
  • Slider resizes to reflect window size
  • Smart Crash Reports added
  • Kanji etc are properly centered within the slider button
  • Album-grouping is now more forgiving
  • Mousewheel scrolling direction is reversed. Apologies to those who've gotten used to the 'wrong' way
  • 'Sort by' button removed - it's functionality is now accessible through the View menu
  • Amazon searcher more reliable (strips things like "Disc Two")
  • Copy & Paste Artwork via the clipboard
  • Similarly named albums could occasionally get replaced when drag & dropping new artwork. Fixed.
  • Fixed jitters on two-fingered scroll pads
  • Fixed Cmd-Enter to append albums to the playlist
  • Fixed dealloc'd observer bug
  • No more crashes on non-Tiger machines, or Rage128s. CoverFlow still won't work on them, but a handy info box will tell you why.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 or higher

CoverFlow CommentaryOld Coverflow, and New iTunes - Version: 1.997, 9/16/2006 10:39AM PST

nlevy1_dotmac
Does anyone know how to transfer all the carefully pulled together images in old Coverflow to the iTunes version? I realise that they are now compressed in a CoverFlow format, so where do I go from here.

Thanks

CoverFlow CommentaryBotheration! - Version: 1.997, 9/13/2006 11:06AM PST

SA Hunter

Congrats to you...

but...

Grrr....

Apple have really bug*ered this lovely app up!
No longer can you hunt for add artwork (unless you use GimmeSomeTune - even with GST you can't scan and paste your own CD covers as you could with Coverflow).

Where has the beautiful swinging animation gone?

I was hoping there would have been an option to make Coverflow an active embedded desktop option...no hope of that now.

Oh well, it's still better than the rubbish MS offering in media player...just.

Grrr.
