Golly is an open source, cross-platform application for exploring Conway's Game of Life and other cellular automata. Key features:

A fine version of an old classic - Life was one of the things that drew me to computers, & one of the first lessons when I learned BASIC on my old VIC 20 many years ago was to write a Life program. Anyone who ever enjoyed this sim-game should have at least a few minutes fun w/ this great version - brought back memories for me. Also, pretty decent documentation & short history for those who somehow haven't run across Life before.
Also - it runs real well on my bottom of the line Intel Mac

Golly supports HUGE fields, and lets you smoothly zoom in and waaay out. Very impressive work! Thanks Andrew and Tom!
