Product Description:

NTI Shadow 3.0 is an award-winning easy-to-use backup application that automatically protects your photo, music, video, and various data files. It makes data restoration as easy as dragging and dropping files from one place to another. For real-time, continuous data backup, set Shadow 3.0 to save your files/folders every time they change. You can also specify your backup schedule by the minute, hour, day, week and start time(s) and also choose a specific or even a customized file type with Shadow 3.0's new advanced file filtering.

Not only does Shadow 3.0 allow users to automatically copy files from their PCs to various devices in real time, but it also preserves the files in their native format meaning no additional software is necessary to restore files. Shadow 3.0 works transparently in the background without disturbing you while you work, and does not take up important system resources.

NTI Shadow ReviewGood product, company sucks - Version: 3.0, 1/29/2008 12:00AM PST

I purchased and used Shadow 2 and then upgraded to Shadow 3. I recently reinstall the OS to get a fresh start with Leopard. I downloaded the laster version of NTI shadow, installed it, and tried to enter my serial number. Shadow didn't accept it. I contacted support here's their reply.

Basically, they make you use a serial number, then they break the serial number with an update, then they make you buy a new one! No other company in the world does this! Every other company I have ever gotten a serial number for will gladly resolve a reinstall issue. To make it work, this is backup software!

There are so many other good back up programs out there (CCC for example, which is free), there os NO REASON to waste your money on this NTI product. Assuming they are just as obnoxious with their other product, I recommend avoiding this company at all costs.

From NTI Support:

I am really sorry but there is not much else I can do. Did you save your
original installation file which worked with that serial number before? It
doesn't make much sense that it worked before but no longer works now. It's
important to save all program installation files that are purchased and
downloaded from the internet. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience but
there is not much else I can do to help you. Please understand that we
cannot continue to supply new serial numbers for customer throughout the
years without repurchasing a license. I wish there was more I could do to
help. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns I can
help you with.

Have a wonderful week.

Best Regards,

NTI Technical Support

This company makes u jump through hoops to download their software. I am a registered user and it took me about 3 minutes to get to the download window. What is the purpose of making prospective buyers go trough a rigourous registration process, wait for an email and then paste a code into another window, just to download their product. When I finally get to download the software and it won't accept my registration key. This comany s*cks!
