Product Description:

People use SecretBook to store all sorts of information. Passwords are just the start. Credit Card details, SSN numbers, Software Licenses, e-mail account details, product registration codes and serial numbers are all easily stored in SecretBook's flexible database. Most people use SecretBook for personal use, but businesses also use SecretBook for managing their customers passwords or for managing software licenses.

What's new in this version:

  • Added version attributes to the export XML.
  • Group Settings now maintains field ordering on close.
  • A number of users reported that Command-E to edit a Secret no longer works. This is because it conflicts with a standard key combination in the Edit menu. I have changed the keyboard shortcut to Command-/. (This is not a fix, it was that way in 4.0.0, I'm just noting it here).
  • Some users could not sync with the iPhone. I have fixed two bugs here, one an initialization issue that caused a crash during authentication, the other was a bug that caused the sync to go badly wrong if you had more than one document open on your Mac.
  • Hopefully the AutoOpen works every time now. This is about my third try at eliminating this bug so that's why I say hopefully. Please let me know.
  • XML export now exports and imports attachments.

Seems to me like an app with some serious problems. Version 4 released, three days later the first patch, 4.0.1, with the download containing version 4.0.2 ??? What's going on? Security Problems? I don't feel I can trust this app.

Some interface flaws too: You can choose an icon for a new group, but thats all, the standard field are the same for all groups. Funny, same field names for all purposes. Or you want create a new document, choose a template but then you change your mind an click cancel. The new document is created anyway. But with what settings??? Where is it saved, what password has it, and so on.

PS: Don't try serials you "find" on the net, SecretBook sends home your user name via Safari.
