- New in 1.87x This little update fixes some issues with temperature and processor frequency monitoring for Intel-Macs. This version also has special driver that miniStat2 will prompt you to install after first startup. We've removed it in the previous update, but now we decided to push it back for compatibility reasons. If you have problems installing or using this driver, or proper values just don't popup – try to delete /System/Library/Extensions/IntelThermalDriver.kext file, close the widget, re-download it and install again

miniStat2 ReviewBreaks G4 PowerBooks! - Version: 1.89, 3/20/2007 04:51PM PST

Strange, whenever I download this widget, Temperature Monitor shows my trackpad temp sensor spiking like crazy (G4 PB, 1.5GHz, OSX 10.4.8 & 10.4.9) and my computer goes to sleep suddenly and unexpectedly with "PMU received emergency overtemp signal. Going to sleep" in the system.log file. The only way to stop this is to totally remove ministat2 and its .plist file from my hard drive.

I'd advise - steer clear if you're on a PowerBook. Otherwise, go for it!

miniStat2 ReviewNice little widget - Version: 1.87x, 12/15/2006 06:28PM PST

I have been using it for several month. So far, so good. While it has basically all the functions I want, it is also very space efficient. It takes up very little screen space, and looks tidy.

Plus it is only $4.95! Highly recommended!

miniStat2 Troubleshooting Reportfix - Version: 1.86, 10/10/2006 03:30PM PST

I had the same problem on my Macbook pro but I was using iStat nano. I'm sure its the same problem on miniStat2. If you wanna get your temperature working, download CoreDuoTemp. This widget has the Increw kernel built-in and it will install the increw kernel properly. Since I don't like the interface of this coreduo widget, I just installed another widget - iStat Nano. Now iStat nano use the kernel off of CoreDuoTemp and display the proper temperature. Hope this helps.
