Product Description:

iTuneMyWalkman is an iTunes script that will help you synchronize the contents of iTunes playlists with you Sony Ericsson Walkman phone. The playlists can be either regular or smart ones. The script can also automatically detect when you connect your phone, and will ask you if you want to synchronize. When the files have been copied, you can Eject the phone. The synchronization happens one way only, from computer to the phone. All songs that are on the phone's memory card, but not on iTMW's playlists will be deleted from the phone. Please keep this in mind if you are using the phone with more than one computer. The playlists themselves are not synchronized, only the tracks within them.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a bug causing an error message "Can't continue commonpart".
  • Added a workaround for an AppleScript bug that prevented the installer from working on Mac OS X prior to 10.4.
  • When the phone is detected, the user will be also given an option to open iPhoto, or unmount the phone. Unmounting right away can be useful, if you use the USB cable just to charge the phone. Then you do not have to worry about unmounting when the phone is charged.
  • Added a primitive preferences dialog.
  • Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

    • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
    • Mac OS X 10.3.9
    • Mac OS X 10.3
    • Mac OS X 10.2
    • Mac OS X 10.1
    • Mac OS X 10.0

    Additional Requirements:

    • Sony Ericsson Walkman phone (tested with W800i
    • reports of K750i working too)

iTuneMyWalkman ReviewAppears to work but does nothing - Version: 0.954, 9/6/2009 03:53PM PST

I tried it because it really fit the basic need I had which was to convert and transfer in one step.

Unfortunately it did not deliver. It looks like it is doing something in iTunes by copying the file and starts converting but the converting happens far too fast that I do not think it did anything because when it said it was transferring, nothing actually copied over.

    What a shame...I had high hopes. :-(

iTuneMyWalkman ReviewVery nice idea but painfully slow... - Version: 0.952, 6/6/2009 09:36AM PST

I love the idea. I was going to use this app to sync a playlist (itunes) to a usb stick. It works ok when your playlist is only about 200MB or at least less than 1GB. It creates M3U playlists and allows to save the tracks by genre or playlist. I read somewhere you could save them by artist names but I couldn't find that option anywhere.

Then I tried to sync a 23GB playlist and the app took 2 days(!) just to "collect data from iTunes". There is just no way you can use this app if it takes that long. I'm not going to leave my mac running for 2 days and more every time I want to sync my playlist to that usb stick.

Like I said, nice idea but you have to work on that speed issue.

iTuneMyWalkman Commentarydoesn't work with itunes, imports duplicate thumbnails - Version: 0.951, 3/10/2009 09:32PM PST

I have a T-Mobile G1, this application works with iphoto (except it also imports duplicate thumbnails), Doesn't work with itunes. applescript error, and it seems to endlessly be gathering info from itunes, yet never actually exporting any tunes to the phone.
I sure was hoping it worked perfectly.
