iTuneMyWalkman ReviewAppears to work but does nothing - Version: 0.954, 9/6/2009 03:53PM PST

S Mayer
I tried it because it really fit the basic need I had which was to convert and transfer in one step.

Unfortunately it did not deliver. It looks like it is doing something in iTunes by copying the file and starts converting but the converting happens far too fast that I do not think it did anything because when it said it was transferring, nothing actually copied over.

What a shame...I had high hopes. :-(

iTuneMyWalkman ReviewVery nice idea but painfully slow... - Version: 0.952, 6/6/2009 09:36AM PST

I love the idea. I was going to use this app to sync a playlist (itunes) to a usb stick. It works ok when your playlist is only about 200MB or at least less than 1GB. It creates M3U playlists and allows to save the tracks by genre or playlist. I read somewhere you could save them by artist names but I couldn't find that option anywhere.

Then I tried to sync a 23GB playlist and the app took 2 days(!) just to "collect data from iTunes". There is just no way you can use this app if it takes that long. I'm not going to leave my mac running for 2 days and more every time I want to sync my playlist to that usb stick.

Like I said, nice idea but you have to work on that speed issue.

I have a T-Mobile G1, this application works with iphoto (except it also imports duplicate thumbnails), Doesn't work with itunes. applescript error, and it seems to endlessly be gathering info from itunes, yet never actually exporting any tunes to the phone.
I sure was hoping it worked perfectly.

iTuneMyWalkman Troubleshooting ReportGetting Sync Error - Version: 0.951, 3/8/2009 09:25AM PST

Man Cubus
Hi,
I am trying to sync my playlist "iTWM_P910i" to my Memory Stick PRO Duo, in Transcend Card Reader P6.
When I press Syncronize, I am getting

AppleScript error:
The variable «class lnfd» is not defined. (-2753)

iTuneMyWalkman Progress window rolling indefinitely at "Collecting Data from iTunes". I have to press Stop, and nothing synced after that.

Please help. Is it incompatibility with new iTunes? I am using version 8.0.2 (20), on a Tiger 10.4.11 on a Cube (PPC 1.4GHz, 1.5G RAM)

iTuneMyWalkman ReviewStill doesn't work. - Version: 0.941, 11/7/2007 01:03PM PST

Despite updates by the writer, and new versions of both iTunes and Tiger, my Sony K550 still does not sync songs, the main reason to use the software. The iPhoto function works great, but iTunes always copied "0/0" songs, and deletes any songs I had on my phone's memory card.

So I'm still dragging the songs manually in the finder instead. Oh well.

Would be great if there would be a "back to default setting" button.
I somehow lost the right path to place my music onto my sony ericsson w810i.
-The interprets are mixed up with some ring tone folders.
-Can't search by Albums.
If anyon knows a solution for my problem, I am more than thankfull.

iTuneMyWalkman ReviewVery good, but needs more work - Version: 0.94, 12/31/2006 09:13AM PST

Instructions are somewhat ambiguous and confusing. It gives the impression that you can just work it from the Apple script menu in iTunes, to sync and unmount, and everything will sync and work automatically, but in fact you need to have the program open as well. Then it works pretty good.

Two images load onto your desktop when you connect your phone - one is titled "Phone Card" & the other "Phone". The main glitch I find is that when you are finished transferring, and you select - iTMW - Unmount Phone, the "Phone Card" image disappears (as it should), but the "Phone" image remains and I cannot remove it no matter what I try.

The message on my phone window says "USB connection ended. It is now safe to remove the USB cable.", but when I pull the cable out of the phone, a warning message appears on the desktop saying "The disk "PHONE" is in use and could not be ejected. Try quitting applications and try again." The only option I have is to unplug the USB cable from the phone, but then the warning message appears -

"Device Removal - The device you removed was not properly put away. Data might have been lost or damaged. Before you unplug your device, you must first select its icon in the Finder and choose Eject from the File menu."

Other than this it is working pretty well, I think it's a great program, and although I have an iPod, I don't take it with me everywhere, and it is still handy to have your music with you if you are waiting in a queue or for an appointment, whatever.

I am using OS X 10.4.8 by the way, with a Sony Ericsson W810I.

I also transferred some photos from iPhoto directly into the memory stick, and they appeared in my phone, under PICTURES > On Memory Stick > PICTURES.

I hope this helps anyone else, but I feel the developer could be more helpful with comments and replies to these Feedbacks, but he does'nt publish his email address for contact. A great program though, cheers.

iTuneMyWalkman Troubleshooting ReportREQUEST HELP- Bug?!!! - Version: 0.94, 12/30/2006 01:30AM PST

Hi,
I downloaded itunesmywalkman to transfer music from my mac g4 to my nokia6288 phone. When i linked up the usb cable and wanted to load mp3 songs to the phone, under Preferences i chose my MAC desktop as the "path to the audio folder on the phones memory card". I clicked on installed scripts and install folder action. I synchronized and continued (they asked me all other files not named itunesmywalkman will be deleted).

So obviously i was thinking they meant this specific to the memory card of the phone not on my mac desktop BUT before i knew it,EVERYTHING on my desktop all my files, documents, photos were ALL deleted. What on earth happened?
Please is there a way to retrieve my work?????????

iTuneMyWalkman ReviewInstant success - Version: 0.94, 12/22/2006 12:16PM PST

I just bought a Sony Ericsson w850i walkman phone whitout knowing whether iTMW 0.94 really worked with this newer phone model. But it did, perfectly. The only setting change I had to make was to set the "music"-folder on my phones memorystick as the folder tom be synchronised. Syncing workes flawlessly. Transfer is quite slow (something like ten minutes), but in the meantime the battery charges via USB (which of course takes longer), so i don't really mind waiting. The synchronisation and unmounting of the phone can easily be made from whitin iTunes with the scriptmenu.

iTuneMyWalkman CommentaryVery convenient piece of software... - Version: 0.94, 12/9/2006 07:43AM PST

...and to make it even better, here are two suggestions ;-)

1. It would be great if, with just one level of folders on the target-volume available, there would be an option for having an artist-album combination (as opposed to just album).

2. It seems, that (album-)folders on the target-volume do not seem to be deleted, even when all tracks inside them are and there are no tracks left in said folder. Thus the target-drive over time end up containing tons of empty (album-)folders. It would be great, if those empty folders would be deleted as soon as they are not needed any more.

Otherwise its the nicest iTunes synching solution I found so far for my noname mp3-player ;-)

Cheers
