Product Description:

If you need to allow people from within your office or across the Internet to send, receive, and manage files on a central Mac, Rumpus FTP is what you are looking for. Whether you need to accept graphics files from remote locations, manage content on a Web server, or coordinate a work group with a single file server that everyone can access, Rumpus is the answer. Rumpus FTP can handle virtually any Internet file transfer task by working with standard FTP and Web clients on any platform, and do it with remarkable ease.

What's new in this version:

Rumpus 5.0 adds support for both FTPS and HTTPS, a remote server monitoring Dashboard widget, dramatically improved Web-based file transfers, and LDAP and Active Directory support via Open Directory-based user authentication. Dozens of other minor feature improvements and bug fixes have also been made, including: the Rumpus Web server is now more efficient, and has been revised for better client compatibility (including work-arounds for known issues in Microsoft Internet Explorer), Web-based user administration has been integrated into the Rumpus Web File Manager interface, all components of Rumpus now run natively on Intel-based Macs (the Rumpus application and server daemon are Universal Binary executables), mail server compatibility has been improved, and extended FTP commands, such as FEAT and EPSV are now fully supported.

Rumpus ReviewGood but core features missing - Version: 5.3.9, 10/14/2008 09:30PM PST

Perser
I downloaded the demo and was surprised how easy it was to get this thing online. I had one little problem with frames and Microsoft InterNet Explorer under Windows, contacted the developer and received an immediate solution: very good job!

But, I'm missing two core features:

1. Support for thumbnails in the listings.
2. Support for iPhone: there should be a special web-design optimized for the screen resolution of the iPhone and playback of media (e.g. mp4 via build in movie player) should work (like "Searchlight" does it).

If the above features are implemented I'll give a seconf try and then it sure will get a 5 stars rating!

Rumpus ReviewAbsolutely Great Software!!!!!! - Version: 5.3.9, 9/23/2008 06:43AM PST

Been using Rumpus for over a year now, and it just works. Very easy to set up. I've never had a problem, it's never unexpectedly quit. Technical support is fantastic, and they are continuously fine tuning the product as they come out with updates every few months. I enthusiastically recommend Rumpus to beginner or expert without hesitation.

Rumpus ReviewBest utility I've ever bought! - Version: 5.3.3, 11/29/2007 10:37AM PST

Absolutely brilliant product!

Simple to use & install, yet with a very useful & powerful feature-set. The best bit for me is the technical support, which is simply legendary! I initially demo-ed the software whilst upgrading to Leopard (which caused quite a few headaches). The guys at Maxum Tech Support went far above the call of duty in helping me sort it all out, especially as I was only testing it. Don't hesitate - buy it!
