I am thrilled with Sonar. Sonar gives me all the information I need on all the file activity of my hard drive. It is great for recording what files an Installer creates on your hard drive when you install a new application. You will be amazed at the number of files some applications install on your hard drive.
It is great for finding those hidden files that an application creates to determine when your trial software has expired. ATTENTION: I am in no way promoting cheating a developer out of his payment for all his hard work. All developers should be rewarded for their effort and hard work developing software. However, some time the demo time period is inadaquite or a new version may come available but the trial from the old version prevents you from trying the new version.
Give Sonar a try

fs_usage does the same thing - Version: 1.0, 10/16/2005 10:11AM PST

If you're fluent at the command line, running fs_usage will give you this same output free.
fs_usage, but a lot more user friendly.fs_usagejust scrolls away...or you can pipe it to a file. But Sonar is great as it gives you just the pertinent information in a real-time window. Still a bit of French lingering in the App menu, but it's pretty obvious what does what by location.
