Product Description:

Silica monitors your modem for incoming Caller ID data and displays the number, name and - if available picture - from your address book so you can see who's calling without looking away from your screen.

What's new in this version:

  • Journal uses same Address Book lookup the daemon does instead of displaying what's in the caller ID stream.
  • If the stream doesn't contain the caller's name but an address book entry is found, the found name is saved in the journal (handling situations where a known caller changes their number.)

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
  • Caller ID capable modem
  • Caller ID service (which is compatible with your modem)

Upgraded from Powerbook 12" to Macbook; it no longer works, either because of Intel or USBmodem or both. A sad day, since there is nothing to take it's place.

Silica CommentaryUSB-2-Serial devices & Silica - Version: 1.2, 9/19/2006 12:01PM PST

I've been using this app for sometime now and it is great, does what it says on the tin.

Works fine for one device, but more that one usb2serial device and the device selection in the preferences can only find the device manager software, rather than the subdevices, eg. /dev/tty.usbserial, /dev/tty.usbserial2.

So unfortunately i can't use it anymore. :(

Is this still being developed?
