I Agree that this is a great app.Works really well
but beware if you have to re-register it.

I have been trying for a week to re-register but
I find when I click the re-register button it takes me
to a list of other screen savers.

It would be helpful if the re-registration button was easy to find.

3D Desktop Aquarium Screen Saver ReviewMuch better than the competition - Version: 1.3.1, 8/5/2007 11:04PM PST

I bought a copy of this a few months ago, then lost my registration during a system crash. In the meantime, I got an ad for Allume's Aquazone, which offered more features and more cool fish, so I bought and downloaded that for $20. All I have to say is that 3D Aquarium is by far the better deal--Aquazone is a huge CPU hog, and has poor resolution. I agree that it would be cool if you could turn off the sound of the pump and just hear the water...

This is the best aquarium screen saver for Mac I have seen. It is very realistic and once you buy the full version you can download more fish and pick the ones you want and how many you want plus change the size of the fish. I set a hot corner to turn it on. I find it as relaxing to watch as my real aquarium and there is no algae to clean up either, LOL!

When I downloaded the demo I found the annoying ad page a bit too annoying and almost trashed it but then I just left it for a while and realized how good it really is so I paid for the full version.

This is the best aquarium screensaver I have ever seen. It really is very good.

Just one request/suggestion. How about separating the water sound from the hum sound? The water sound is pleasant and relaxing while the hum can get annoying.

3D Desktop Aquarium Screen Saver ReviewVery annoying and too limited demo - Version: 1.2, 11/25/2006 04:32PM PST

Looks very good - for a few seconds after the initial ugly advertisement and before the screen goes blank for another advertisement. Not enough to see if I will want to pay for the full version as it is too annoying to turn it on after you see it once.

I did buy this screensaver. Because it is so nice. Looking forward to the few
bug fixes and enhancements of v1.1 The guy who said SereneScreen qualifies
as a screensaver and 3D isn't is amiss. The SereneScreen rocks are constant
(though fish do move 'in front' of them) is subject to more screen burnin that
the fluidic, moving background of 3D. Good job!

3D Desktop Aquarium Screen Saver ReviewNice. But not a Screen Saver. - Version: 1.0, 9/7/2005 09:45AM PST

Silly me! All this time I thought the purpose of a screen saver is to save the screen! Sorry, but this does not do the job. All the desktop stuff is carried over into the screen saver image and continues to burn into your screen. Serene screens turns off the desktop image and contines to change the image and therefore qualifies as a bone fide screen saver.

But as as a sample of what the Mac can do with graphics, it is very nice indeed.

3D Desktop Aquarium Screen Saver CommentaryGot Fish? - Version: 1.0, 9/2/2005 10:36AM PST

.

Nice, inexpensive eye candy shareware but could do
with some tweaking. I like the water level effect and
that it uses the desktop as a background - It's a feature
that sets it apart from other aquarium savers. I haven't
tried it, but maybe using an app like 'xback' and this
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11202
could make for a very 'moving' aquatic desktop picture ?

The fish could maybe have a speed option - from lazy to
supersonic. At the moment they seem a little too active all
the time. Plus maybe some bubbles emanating from them
would also not go a miss. How about a feeding time frenzy.

One small bug - I can't get the 'mix all fish...' option to show
all of my installed fish swimming together.

Overall an excellent little saver and a good use of open GL.
