Safe Eyes - 3.1

This is AWFUL software for the MAC. If you have a Mac, DEMO THIS FIRST. Don't be like me and check it out for a couple days then jump into year-long subscription boat. Give this thing an ENTIRE demo so you have time to surf and see what applications it starts to mess with.

First, it acts like AOL, taking over the Mac system in areas where it does not need to. For instance, the program shuts off after a few minutes of what it calls "inactivity" thereby, disconnecting you from the internet, even if you are using broadband! It does this by hijacking your connection to begin with, you cannot connect without signing into Safe Eyes. The amazing thing is, if you are working on your computer and are making a crucial graphics or video adjustment, this silly software pops up ON TOP OF WHAT YOU'RE DOING! just like AOL used to do.

Secondly, it has a box to click that says "remember my name and password" you click it, it does nothing. NOTH-ING! It does not remember anything I've ever entered, EVER. You have to sign in over and over and over everytime it disconnects you (just like AOL-except that at least AOL remembered your name and password in the later days). Also, it blocks sites for no damn reason whatsoever, like cigars? forgettaboutit. All cigar sites are blocked from the get go. Like to play online flash games or interactive games? Forgetaboutit, it will block all the game sites and EVEN ESPN fantasy football because the software interprets that as "online games" when it is actually statistics checking. As someone else posted, it blocks ebay, shutterfly, and many other useful sites.

Yes you can go in and add an * next to the website for "allow" but who wants to do this for a thousand different sites a thousand different times!? Also, if you do 'allow' a site. I've found that site will never operate properly after that. I still cannot view flash files on youtube consistently. The site just acts like it is loading forever and never plays. Any flash video sharing site is blocked entirely whether there is adult content or not. No problem, find the good sites, type them in to "allow" in the admin panel with an * and then??? Bamn! no workie!

My whole system works far slower after having installed Safe Eyes. When I try to shut off my system, Safe Eyes blocks it and tells me I must "Quit Safe Eyes" which I do and then it just simply pops back on again all by itself...I click "quit" back on it comes! preventing a proper shutdown of my mac. Its annoying and more trouble than its worth for the money. I am going to investigate other internet filter systems for my company and try to get the remaining amount of my money back.

I am glad the people from Safe Eyes are there. The Internet has become a mine field, full of traps, pitfalls, poison and landmines. With Google now introducing the image to Net Search things are taking a nose dive. The motto of Google should be 'Whatever! We just don't care!". You name it, it's out there. Good grief! And popping-up, even on strict safe search! What are Google doing?
Google have now produced a way to use your computer's microphone to monitor the sound in your home, like the TV, and relay the information back (so they can consumerize you!). Talk about Big Brother! It is an attack on Apple and the American economy, because camera and mic come as standard. They would have to use switches to physically disconnect the mic and camera. I just wonder where it fits in with Revelation 13. Maybe WWW is a cypher for 666? And one day the mask will fall?
AppZapper let you zap with their "ray gun" any application off your computer, even locked ones. Appdelete and CleanApp are both free. If only some computer genius would come up with a way to ZAP (PERMANENTLY!) Google off a protesting user's computer and send a message to Google that yet another customer has gone for good - maybe it would speed them up to get a search program that does not spray vomit over us all! If TV is an "open sewer into our homes" what is the Net becoming? Safe Search is not expensive for what it is. 50pence a week (or a buck). I reckon it's good value. We are all like snowflakes to God. Everyone individual. Everyone unique.
