Quick question, but is there something wrong with using the Finder for free?

This is pretty good. I have tried "a lot" of blogger software and this is the one I hope to live with for a long time... I'm no HTML expert but I have managed to customize a buit-in template, create the blog itself and post it on Dot Mac. Actually it took me 2-3 hours and it was fun! I have installed a visitors' counter and all the Haloscan stuff. Blog.Mac GUI is neat and simple. The help files and instructions are easy to understand and very well written. This is my blog (you'll notice that it's in French - as in Québec not France - and I myself made all the language adaptations from the original English): http://homepage.mac.com/normandlepine/blog/Blog-GDLMV.html It's a start. I plan to play with this blog a lot in the coming days! I'm a happy camper, as you say!

I just registered after I published my new blog using the trial version...so quick. I love the comments feature...as a teacher, students are leaving comments and asking questions. And when I e-mailed support, I actually got a quick response. Definitely a rarety, and 100% worth the cost!

Blog.Mac Review...a work in progress... - Version: 1.0.62, 9/3/2005 07:13AM PST

Great idea, not so great app.- yet. It shows signs of improvement with each version and the developers are GREAT with email responses. I do not like the templates resident on my iDisk- takes too long to preview them- even with DSL, it should be a Preference. I would use a "local application" instead of web based blogger for the control and security of having my content kept local- so why would I want the templates remote on my iDisk?...my preference, as I said, it should be a Preference. The application should not have a name that ends with ".app" keep the code side on the code side and the visible on the visible- just like the McDLT...Blog.Mac is great- not Blog.Mac.app, just a pet peeve...this application is worth a spin...and soon maybe worth a purchase.

I've taken a quick look at this app and it does look good. It seems to make it easy to add pictures, audio, etc. I like the iSight feature. What would be missing for me would be blog categories. If the developer added this, this app could really be useful.

Blog.Mac CommentaryDoes not work for me - Version: 1.0.6, 8/31/2005 12:54PM PST

I have tried to make this app work, I have even tried to register it - it just does not work. At startup, the main window just shows a spinning wheel next to a text "Your .mac name". Nothing happens. A progressbar showing "Action in progress" is just spinning and spinning. Nothing happens. I try the Register option from the menu. Nothing happens. I try to make a new blog and preview with built in template (they all look pretty awful: ugly beyond belief! The reason I dont understand, just very ugly HTML, and nothing like the CSS sites from the developers website. What I see is crap.
I try to write using scandinavian letters æ, ø and å: they end up chinese in the preview. Somewhere in the faq I read that first launch included a upload of templates to iDisk (.Mac). Not so for me. Nothing happens. This app has a looooong way to go to be useful, or even work at all. At least for me.

I tried this app and was impressed with the simplicity of posting a basic Blog page. Everything was very straight forward. Certainly the easiest way to post a blog on .Mac.

...I'm just about to quit using .mac for being too expensive for what you get. Otherwise I would've given this app a try.

I just tried Blog.Mac and love the iSight webcam and iTunes now playing...unlike anything I've ever seen before!

Can't wait until I get my baby blog done and share my baby journal with my family!

Blogs are easy to make and publish.
