I spent about twenty minutes with this application and I'm sorry to say that US $40 is an unrealistic expectation. This application has interface problems (the inexplicable 'severity' indicator, for instance, just doesn't work right). It also has little to offer over its competition and it does have plenty of it. There are Ulysses, CopyWrite, Avenir, Jer's Novel Writer, and a few other weird (as in nothing like any Mac software I've ever used) ones. I ended up sticking with CopyWrite (I just recently registered after jumping back and forth), but as I read in the feedback, it's not necessarily for everyone's preferred work style. The bottom line is there are alternatives to StoryWritingAssistant and until the price is lowered and the software goes through its share of growth and development, I recommend trying something else. It just isn't ready for professionals.

After a quick look at it, it is a rather intuitive app. It allows for notes all over the place (which I happen to need all the time.) I'm not a big writer nor am I an expert on writing layouts so I do not feel qualified to review it but I would recommend it to any writer to at least try it out. It is a bit pricey to register though.
Why not be a bit more generous-spirited and allow potential purchasers to save and to check the export options (rather important feature).
Competitors CopyWrite, Ulysses, Avenir, Jers Novel Writer are more full-featured -- and a lot more welcoming!
