Tried it, looked like nothing going on (i.e. no download). Tried it again 10 minutes later, it says (words to the effect) "translation impossible."

A.P.O.D. Screensaver Troubleshooting Report0.5 Requires Tiger - Version: 0.5, 11/10/2005 02:34PM PST

I agree with "inadequate". 0.5 does appear to require Tiger. I tried it on a G3 running 10.3.9 and it did not work, while 0.4 does work. I then tried 0.5 on a G4 running 10.4.2, and it works without a problem. The developer should note this in the program description above, and provide links above for BOTH versions, since 0.4 appears to be the limit for machines running Panther. Thanks for the educational screensaver. I particularly like the option to display and download previous APOD images. It avoids the monotony of looking at the same image for 24 hours. One suggestion: If the user has the random option enabled, instead of having the screensaver download each image one at a time as they are needed. I think it would be preferable if the screensaver could take note of the current date, and then download the images for the previous 30 days or so, all in one shot, and cache them. That way, the images could more smoothly transition from the current one to the next one, instead of having to wait with that white screen that says "Connection with site "Astronomy Picture of the Day", while the next image is downloaded. It just makes for a more enjoyable experience. And if you really want to get fancy, how about adding the option so that the user can add music of his choice to the screensaver. I got this idea from the StarWarsScroll screensaver, where all you have to do is stick a file called "music.mp3" in the Application Support folder. Just a thought.

requirements above say Mac OS X 10.3, but when i try using this screensaver on 10.3.9, i get the error:

Screen saver “A.P.O.D. ScreenSaver” did not load properly. Please select another screen saver. Error: Can't load bundle

and in the console log shows that it is looking for CoreData, a framework that was introduced with 10.4
