WHAT customer service...this developer LIES AND STEALS - Version: 2005, 2/24/2006 07:11PM PST
RAH-JUR
I have the previous year's (2004) screensaver. The developer claims to provide a "lifetime of upgrades." THEY LIE! THEY STEAL! THEY WON'T reply, answer, or provide any support for their (?) product. A product that is in the public domain, yet they profit from tax payer owned pictures. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! IT'S NOT WORTH IT! I have called, em@iled, every address for support for this product and they WILL NOT REPLY! They have "promised" me an upgrade and they will not answer every conceivable request for support. BEWARE!!!!!
appalling Customer Service

See tip posted here, these photos are owned by us, the taxpayers who funded the Hubble, and they can be downloaded and displayed or printed for free. Use iPhoto and the built-in screen saver to roll your own Hubble Space Telescope Screensaver.

The Hubble Space Telescope pictures are public domain and can be downloaded for free from NASA. Maybe this developer wrote a screensaver engine to display the images, and on that standpoint they have a right to charge, but $20 seems steep - especially when no screensaver engine is required in OS X to display pictures.

Spend some time at the APOD site: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html and download what you want, then make a folder in iPhoto of the pics and set them as the pictures folder in the screen saver pref pane.
Done!
Done!

How do you take pictures taken with public money from a govenment sponsored project like Hubble and offer them as your photographs and screensavers for sale? Seems something wrong with this.
