Product Description:

D-Subtitler is a little software which let you extract subtitles of your DVD and put it in a .srt file (which is compatible with Mplayer, Video Lan and the majority of Divx Player). To use D-Subtitler, you have to rip your DVD in your hard drive (to remove CSS protection). You can rip it in VIDEO_TS folder or in a big .vob file. Open the result of the rip with D-Subtitler, choose the subtitle track to extract and click on the green button. Warning : With some DVD, when you work with D-Subtitle from a VIDEO_TS folder, the subtitles track is not completely extracted. To fix this problem, you must rip the DVD in a single vob file (OSex or YadeX).

For me, this app is really what I need, but there are some serious problems with timecodes.
All of the timecodes for the start of the subtitle are perfect. The ending times, however,
are before the start in around 15% of all subtitles.
They just keep the same value for the ending time as the title before, an example would be:

20
00:01:34,319 --> 00:01:36,459
Call her to my study!

21
00:01:37,430 --> 00:01:39,129
Yes!

22
00:01:41,430 --> 00:01:43,420
She's finally gonna get some!

23
00:01:52,140 --> 00:01:43,420
Pack my suitcases... Am l fired?

24
00:01:55,780 --> 00:01:43,420
lt's your day off!

25
00:01:57,379 --> 00:01:43,420
Day off? But...

26
00:02:00,579 --> 00:02:03,189
Eveybody needs a day off
once in a while.

As you can see in this example, there are some subtitles in a row that end at the same time.
It would be great if this could be fixed, as I have to manually search through them until they are all fixed,
because affected subtitles won't show up at all.
Sadly, this app seems to be abandoned as the last update is in 2005. :(

D-Subtitler Commentarywrong timecodes = useless .srt - Version: 1.0, 4/11/2006 07:40AM PST

I've tried D-Subtitler on 2 .vob with the same result: where timecodes should have a time for the subtitle to start appearing, and a time for it to disappear, all start times are 00:00:00:00.

The result is only the last subtitle, which timecode spans the whole movie, appears for the whole duration of the movie. (since, for a movie 1h30min45sec long, that last subtitle timecode would look like this: 00:00:00:00-->01:30:45:00).

I don't understand this as most if not all people reporting seem to be ok, and my config is nothing out of the ordinary (10.4.6 on G5).
