Product Description:

A slipbox is really just this: a loose collection of slips stuffed into a box. Each time you have an idea that seems worth remembering you scribble down a note on an (electronic) slip and put it into the box. Then you forget about it. When the time comes that you need those ideas the functionality of the program helps you to quickly find relevant slips and, what is more, relations and links between different slips by associative searches.

What's new in this version:

  • Result Table in Search View can shows slip titles (settable via new Preferences item)
  • Columns in Result Table can now be reordered and resized
  • Slightly improved support for 10.3.9, but it still does not run reliably on pre-10.4 systems, use version 0.6 on 10.3.9
  • Some improvements on performance and stability
  • Slightly modified the layout of the Statistics window
  • Added function to search in Bookends (analogous to the BibDesk function)
  • Changed bundle signature to SPBX
  • Bugfix 062: Pressing the left cursor on a collapsed item in Keyword Scent View or Alternating Scent View caused the program to hang
  • Result Table in Search View can shows slip titles (settable via new Preferences item)

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.4

I have been using SlipBox since early October and am more and more pleased by it. And Spotlight seems to have no problem with it either. I use it for simple things like iTunes receipts, complicated projects involving information pulled from a lot of different web sites, almost all the info I want to store somewhere and be able to find again. Since I can define Type (i.e., Receipt) and Source (i.e, iTunes, VersionTracker) and add whatever keywords seem crucial to a search or memory jog, I can work a lot faster and not have to wonder whether I can find an item later. And SlipBox is not a CPU drain nor a memory hog. It is a good program that does what it says it will.

SlipBox Commentaryvery useful app - but did spotlight stop working in 0.7.2? - Version: 0.7.2, 9/15/2006 07:48PM PST

been using 0.7.1 for a little while and finding it great way to organise
and search my usually disorganised notes.
I use shift-cmd-M (paste selection into a new slip) and using spotlight to search. Slipbox does more than this, but this is the feature that really saves me a lot of time.

If you havent tried this app and want something quick then give it a go.

Spotlight seemed to have stopped working for me on 0.7.2 though? - reverted back to 0.7.1 and I'm happy again.

Downloads, installs, runs (or should I say "launches"?). Otherwise, it just sits there doing nothing. Tried every command that wasn't greyed out, and absolutely nothing happened (OS X 10.3.9).
