Live Poker CommentaryBuggy buggy buggy - Version: 3.7, 5/14/2008 05:50AM PST

This app may look cool, but it's BUGGY as hell. I keep getting disconnected from the server and I know others are suffering through this, too. They abandoned money games probably b/c of collusion (multiple communicating players at one table, or single player with multiple accounts at one table). The randomizer is weak and predictable, often times with unusual or unlikely outcomes in a row. Conclusion: Don't get fooled by the neat looking animations, this thing really sucks bad: Therefore, "FORGET IT, I FOLD".

Live Poker Reviewnot perfect, but i like it! - Version: 2.7, 5/9/2006 11:49AM PST

plaintiger

the one nagging problem i have with L3DP is graphical: when i'm not actively playing in a hand - like i've folded, for example - and i'm looking around the table in first-person view (great feature!), my own avatar's face will fill the screen when i look straight ahead, blocking my view of the other players at the table (i keep the main window maximized to fill my screen, in case that helps anybody troubleshoot). i have to switch to the above-the-table view to avoid this when i'm not holding an active hand. but so far that's the only problem of any note that i've had. well, that, and that i'm not very good yet. :D but i'm getting better, thanks to this game, and i'm certainly having fun doing it.

i agree that it would be nice for the avatars to be more customizable and stuff. and i'm glad i don't use either of the payment systems the game offers for real-money play...that's prevented me from playing for real money, for which i'm glad. :D but it's nice to know the option's there, and i have a ball playing for play money in the meantime.

i wish i didn't get tossed out after a period of inactivity - i like to leave the room open when i'm doing other things just to hear the conversation...it keeps me company! :) maybe if i sat out instead of standing up, it wouldn't boot me out...have to try that. and i can understand the booting to lighten the load on the servers...it would just be nice if i could set a time-until-boot in the prefs or something (though that wouldn't help lighten the load on the servers).

i wouldn't mind being able to play strip poker with some of those avatars! :D

but seriously, folks: i like it. it's been quite reliable for me so far, and it's certainly been fun. i recommend.
