Product Description:

This program creates a calendar that lets you automatically email people at certain times. The following shows what becomes what in an e-mail:
  • event name -> subject
  • location -> attachment
  • attendees -> recipients
  • notes field -> message text
  • url field -> sender email
It is not necessary to click the "Send" button. Doing so will execute iCal's normal invitation system. You can close the event pane by clicking outside of it or pressing "esc".

Please note that because of a workaround I had to use for Leopard, you may receive the email being sent as well.

For best results:
  • Set the alarm to open the "iCalMail" app "0 minutes before".
  • Schedule events at least 5 minutes apart.
Attachments should be stated in the form "/Volumes/Volume Name/Folder Name/File Name" (without quotes).

It is OK if the url field starts with "http://" or is left blank.

What's new in this version:

  • Bug fix for Leopard.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X Leopard (10.5)
  • An account set up in Mail.app

I'd be willing to pay/donate a small fee if you could turn this process around so that I can setup on my website a way for people to add new iCal events through email!

I'd setup on my website a form where people would enter the necessary info, Event Title, Date, Time (to and from) or All Day, Location, URL, and Notes.

I've been searching and requesting something like this be made for the last few years, please help me. I've tried and failed horribly at apple scripting my own hack.

I'm pretty sure it can easily be done in apple script and all I'd have to do it setup a Mail account dedicated to receiving and running the apple script on incoming email.

Some other items I'd love to see added if the above is created. In the subject of the email that's generated from the form (or somewhere in the email) a section for a password, this way I don't have jerks and non friends creating iCal event spam. Could be integrated into the form I'd setup on my website.
