Well done. I've been waiting for such a good version of Arkanoid. I love the way the physics work in this - altering the properties of the barrier, the shape of the ball and so forth. However, it is quite graphically intensive, but it does run fast enough on my iBook, and of course the G5. A goos option for the developers might be to give an option for an "ultra lean" mode, where the graphics are stripped right back to the basics. This would enable the game to run on even older hardware, and have a greater audience, or to allow those with more modern systems to get the most responsiveness.

I always liked playing Arkanoid with actual rotary paddles on my Commodore 64. I don't like playing with a mouse so much. So, I may build my own paddle just for this game. Of course, if anyone knows any off-the-shelf rotary paddles that are good value, I could just buy one.

Kudos also for the developers having a cheesy backstory told in cartoon panels. However, I do miss the cheesy space-based Arkanoid backstory, and that giant-Aztec-sculpture-head thingy that ate space ships (and spewed rocks, if I remember some of the levels correctly).

I mean, a game is just not the same if it doesn't incorporate a cheesy giant-Aztec-sculpture-head.
