Entourage Event widget ReviewLooks Accurate - Version: 1.4, 7/13/2005 12:07PM PST

This latest version seems to have fixed all the major errors I had seen in the previous versions. Since I use Entourage 2004 as my main organizer, I really look forward to seeing what the future holds for this widget. Currently I still use the iCal Events widget but would prefer this current widget if it progresses to the iCal Event widget level.

PRO: I like that you can view the event summary. You can not do this on the iCal Event widget.

CON: Lacks that polished look. No flexibility in the amount of info displayed. 'Location' field not displayed. My biggest concern is the processor usage still. The widget cranks my processor to 100% everytime I use the widget. The first time I open it is the worst - usually a little over a minute. I'm using a PowerBook G4 1.33GHz for reference.

Entourage Event widget ReviewRepeating Events Issue - Version: 1.3, 7/3/2005 10:48AM PST

Thanks very much for providing the first Entourage Widget for Tiger. I hope to see plenty more of these in the future.

My problem with the previous version regarding "opening the widget" and "100% processor usage" seem to be gone. It still cranks away at the processor for about 30 seconds, but returns to normal after that. I'm assuming it is just scouring the Entrouage database during that time.

However, the repeating event issue still seems to be there. I have a repeating monthly event scheduled for Wednesday evening. It shows up in my "Today" and "Tomorrow" widget listing even though it really should not be there.

Also, I have two events scheduled in Entourage that I do not see in the widget.

Finally, somehow I got the widget to flip over, even though I do not see the standard "i". I could not get it to ever go back to the front side after flipping it over.

Entourage Event widget ReviewNot Functioning Correctly - Version: 1.2, 7/1/2005 05:05PM PST

This could be a very nice widget especially since it is the first Entourage Widget I have seen out there so far. Unfortunately, with this first release, I couldn't get it to work correctly.

First, it would not open by clicking on it. I had to drag it out of the widget toolbar for it to open on the screen.

Second, it immediately started using 100% of my processor and stayed there.

Third, it didn't do anything. I thought this might be because Entourage was not open. So I went back and opened Entourage. Still nothing happened. I waited about 1 minute and a few events showed up in the widget.

Fourth, some of the events were not from "Today" or "Tomorrow" yet they appeared in the widget as if they were. They seemed to be repeating events; so maybe there is an issue with that.

Note, I had to quit the widget and Entourage before my processor dropped back down to normal. I hope to see this running better in the future. I will definitely give it a try again on the next release.
