Serene Saver 2 HD Review10-day trial suggestion-Get rid of the big banner that ruins it - Version: 4.55, 12/3/2009 05:43AM PST

summerstormpictures
Primarily I won't use this because while it is kind of cool to have a live scene going on in the background, I use so many highly CPU intensive applications that I'd be turning it off all the time.

Secondly, if you're going to offer a free 10-day trial, how about removing the really large annoying banner that ruins the entire scene? That really turned me off and caused me to de-install the thing right away. Why is this even necessary? It's worse by epic degrees than a frequent pop-up reminder, which is also not necessary. Just have the annoying banner come up after 10-days. Let people enjoy and get interested without ruining the whole point of having the 10-day trial.

Sorry.

Serene Saver 2 HD Commentary4.55 is free to licensed 4.5 users - Version: 4.55, 12/3/2009 05:03AM PST

Just an FYI, because I stared at the "$14.95 to upgrade" screen with dismay after having just purchased a license a month ago, that the 4.55 upgrade is free to 4.5 users. Just launch "check for updates" from within the screen saver's About window and step through to the download page. The explanation is there.

Serene Saver 2 HD ReviewSerene Screensaver/My Living Desktop is Sweet! - Version: 4.55, 12/2/2009 12:08PM PST

I purchased and installed My Living Desktop (then called Serene Screensaver) the first day I bought my iMac (November 2007, I believe). It is absolutely the best "Desktop" I have ever seen or used, Apple, or otherwise. In fact, when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, the first software I purchased was the upgrade to My Living Desktop. It is even better than my previous version! More scenes, more sounds and upgraded features. The folks at mylivingdesktop.com provided excellent customer service, as well (something you very often don't get with most software vendors). I would definitely recommend anyone with a Mac purchase this application! I promise, you will not be disappointed. I am certainly not. Thanks!
