Product Description:

Bookdog is the premier Shepherd and Guardian of bookmarks for your Macintosh. After you install Bookdog, you spend a few minutes adjusting how you want your bookmarks sorted, click 'Sort' and within seconds your bookmarks are all in order! Click 'Analyze' to find duplicates and then fix them. Open the Preferences, activate Bookwatchdog, and your bookmarks be re-sorted after you make changes. Automatically. Do you seem to have alot of bookmarks that don't work anymore? Tell Bookdog to Verify. He'll go to all your websites, fetch their data, present a report, give you some options on how he can automatically fix bookmarks that have been "redirected", and finally present a handy tool which allows you to quickly review and fix the remainder. Using Camino, Firefox, Opera and/or OmniWeb in addition to Safari? When you tell him to Migrate your bookmarks between browsers, he finds the right folder and avoids creating duplicates. You can migrate unilaterally (one-way) or bilaterally, "synchronizing" all missing bookmarks between browsers. And you can do so from an AppleScript or schedule Migrations using Apple's Automator.

Atta boy! Finally, you see the intelligence you knew your Mac was capable of!

What's new in this version:

Bookdog 4.0.1 has the following improvements since Bookdog 4.0.0.

  • When visiting bookmarks, the web browser is now activated (and Bookdog is deactivated).  The old behavior, which was the other way aound, is still available by option-clicking.
  • In Migration window, the popup menus for selecting browsers now have all browsers always enabled.  (This fixes a deadlock which could occur for users with exactly two browsers installed.)
  • In Main Window, fixed an annoying little bug that caused the outline to scroll back up to the top, if it was scrolled down, after the Find window had been opened.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later
  • To manage Firefox bookmarks, must be using Firefox 1.5 or later, or Minefield, BonEcho, or DeerPark
  • To manage OmniWeb bookmarks, must be using OmniWeb 5.0 or later
