What's new in this version:

SUMMARY. An important update for Google Bookmarks, also several minor fixes to text in user interface.
  • While downloading Google Bookmarks, now checks to see if Google has served Bookdog the same bookmark more than once and now ignores the redundant data instead of placing duplicates into the outline. We don't know if this behavior by Google is rare, or if it is new, but one user reported it two days ago and thanks to his running a little test for us we were able to identify the multiple serving of bookmarks as the problem. (Note: This can result a bookmark record being deleted if user deletes one of the two redundant bookmarks, since both actually represent the same bookmark.)
  • Fixed the "Fixed by Bookdog" menu item so it does not say "Fixed by %0".
  • A few corrections to Italian localization.
  • Added a little in Bookdog Basics documentation section.

Bookdog CommentaryDeveloper Response to Complaint - Version: 5.1.23, 7/19/2008 11:53AM PST

sgmiller
and, when I complained about lack of FF support, I received the following response:

"Frankly put, if you don't like it, use something else."

Very nice. I paid $15 for a product which doesn't yet support the most downloaded browser in the world forcing me to cough up money for another product to take its place and this is their attitude? In over 35 years of computing, I don't think I ever got a response like this when I actually had paid for a product.

i say this every year or so. if you run a web browser on a mac, you really should have bookdog, too.

the app and the developer are a stellar examples of what mac shareware and developers can be. right up there with graphicconverter, launchbar, and little snitch in my book. that is: not only essential, but constantly improving.

rock on.

Bookdog ReviewGreat App, Great Customer Support (even when you don't need it) - Version: 5.1.12, 5/5/2008 05:39AM PST

I've been busily getting on with just letting this app get on with its job over the past year, without even thinking about it. I, like most people, have multiple Macs for work and need them all to be up-to-date and then (for me) a job the requires multiple browsers too, that also need to be synced.

Bookdog, working in tandem with dot mac, helps me achieve all this - it's a great app.

This isn't though why I felt the sudden urge, after all this time, to write a review: my mac lap top had to be wiped and in the process of reinstalling everything (don't you hate that bit), I found I'd lost track of my Bookdog serial . . . and low-and-behold (though I later found it) I woke this morning to find an e-mail from the sheepsystems crew with the details I required . . .

Well done guys!
