Awaken - 4.0.23

Ich hab dieses blöde Programm nun schon ein halbes Jahr lang auf meinem Rechner, und es macht ständig Probleme! Stellt man 9:20 als Weckzeit ein, brüllt meine Anlage erst um 12:40 Uhr los - ein unverzeihlicher Fehler! Auch der "Backup"-Alarm funktioniert mal, dann aber auch wieder nicht. Es scheint so, als würde iTunes sich gegen diesen Wecker wehren, denn ständig hat awaken die Playlists verloren; ohne dass in iTunes etwas an den Playlists geändert wurde!
Versucht awaken nach updates im Internet zu suchen, bekommt aber keine Verbindung (Kein Netz oer Little Snitch) rödelt es so lange vor sich her, bis man dem ganzen Einhalt gebietet. Dumm nur, dass es, wenn es rödelt, leider nicht mehr weckt!

Mein Fazit: Finger weg! Wer auf einen verlässlichen Wecker angewiesen ist, ist hier falsch.

Abschliessend: Unbrauchbares, weil nicht verlässliches Programm, dafür aber übersichtlich und einfach zu bedienen. Nützt nur auch nichts....

anyone else having trouble with 4.0.13? killed itunes. deleting awaken dir didn't help. had to re-install os....

I like the look and feel of this app very much, it's gorgeous. Functionally, however, it's got a few issues. This morning it didn't wake me - its screen said the alarm was in progress, but iTunes was paused. Further investigation showed that the song selected in iTunes had its checkbox un-checked (I have a number of songs I keep in my collection but do not want in regular play rotation (30-minute classical pieces, Christmas songs, etc.). Maybe that's why Awaken choked, I don't know. But reliability is paramount in an alarm clock application.

When turning on the sleep timer, the program interrupts the currently-playing iTunes song and starts playing a new song. This is quite annoying, it'd be much better if it just started the timer and left iTunes alone at that point.

The program also really needs to have a slow fadeout option on the sleep timer function, it is not conducive to sleep to have the music continue at full volume and then suddenly cut off.

There is little/no documentation, the Help screen says "Coming in software update".

I wrote the developer some days ago but haven't received a reply. In fairness, the issue I wrote about (conflict with APE) was mentioned in the Read Me or somewhere, but still I asked a question and a reply would have been nice.

I'll definitely buy it if these issues are sorted out.

Seems like I'm not the only one who's tried this alarm and found that it doesn't wake from sleep as claimed. Maybe it's 10.4.11 that's doing it but it seems not, from the number of posters below and on the dev's forums. Strange that users should hae such divergent experiences (in both service and performance) from a single app. Still, reliability is the key with alarms and this one gets nought on that count. One star for the eye candy and decent UI. Will look elsewhere for functionality though.
