Apple Mail Server CommentaryConfused to the current version - Version: Update, 12/29/2008 07:13PM PST

I am confused as to what is the current build. I have OSX 10.5.6 with mail version 3.5 (930.3). Went to the Apple Store today and the new iMac had OSX 10.5.5 with mail version 3.5 (929.4/929.2). I assume my machine at home was updated with the most recent mail and I do not need this update (though I do have some unusual "beach ball spins" with "application not responding" for several minutes requiring a forced quit). I also note when commenting on this version of Mail, though it says 10.5.6 on the Version Tracker page for this mail update, when I get to the page that allows me to submit my feedback it says it is mail for OSX Server 10.3.9. All very confusing.

Apple Mail Server CommentaryProblems with audio files in Apple Mail - Version: Update, 12/25/2008 10:58AM PST

Hello,

the Apple Mail updater works fine so far. I have only noticed one problem.

1. I restart my computer
2. I launch Apple Mail
3. I select a message which contains a .wav audio attachment
4. I click the play button in the quicktime slider
=> False - No sound, no audio output

1. I quit the Apple Mail application
2. I re-launch Apple Mail
3. I select the message containing the .wav file
4. I click the play button in the quicktime slider
=> True - the Quicktime file plays correctly in Apple Mail

This problem with my Quicktime audio file attachments in Apple Mail
only appears after a restart and on the first launch of Apple Mail.

Ho Ho Ho ... pe that helps.

graphically & sincerely,

Marc Klein
