GPULife ReviewAmazingly good life implementation - Version: 1.0, 7/31/2005 09:13PM PST

I really love life screensavers. There are good ones out that that are beautiful but just suck down CPU power to render them. This looks even better, with minimal CPU usage.

Running on a ATI Radeon 9600, I'm getting about 40fps running 1600x1200 with a 2x zoom. Changing the zoom down to 1x drops the rate down to 10fps, but at 1 cell/pixel, there's a LOT going on on the screen.

Extremely cool.

GPULife CommentaryI don't think it's working right for me - Version: 1.0, 5/16/2005 04:36PM PST

All I get is more and more white dots on a black background, no colors, no death. I am familiar with the Life concept, and I assume that it just isn't working right for me. I have a 12" PowerBook with a GeForce4 MX card, 32MB VRAM, running a fresh installation of Tiger, OpenGL version 1.4.0.
