SWF'n Slide Pro ReviewGood and getting Better - Version: 1.029, 6/18/2008 09:01PM PST

First of all, everybody is not on the same field in regards to computer model, operating system, installed ram, installed software and just plain experience. So lets take these reviews and comments with this in mind. As for me regarding this software, I have great results. I‘m using a 17” PowerBook, 1.5 GHz PPC G4, with 2GB Ram, 128 MB Video Ram, Mac OS X 10.4.11. I just used v1.028 of this software to create a scrolling slide show of 144 photos for a website with a window size of 700 pixels wide x 216 pixels high. This program took only a minute or two to produce the show. My only problem was the one stated in the v1.029 update, so now I’ll add a few more photos and redo. I feel that the developer is good with addressing any problems in a timely manner, so I’ll give it four stars, as nothing is perfect.

SWF'n Slide Pro ReviewGood but with limits - Version: 1.026, 1/25/2008 12:00AM PST

Not bad for a quick, basic slide show. No way to insert pages, making reordering a pain. You need to have already determined the sequence to make it easy. Program crashes big time when importing a folder of lots of images. I don't know the program limits (nothing listed in the documentation or their web site), but I have a folder of 275 images and it will crash everytime--sometimes so catastrophically (memory leaks) as to crash MacOS X (10.5.1). I'm running on a MacBook Pro machine with 3gb RAM, so I have a very capable machine, yet SWF 'n Slide Pro is very sluggish with even a few images. More than 50 and it becomes a dinosaur.

So if you want to create a small, simple slide show, the program is fine. Large slide shows are not feasible (at least for me). Program stability is definitely an issue.
