Taboo Troubleshooting ReportNot compatible with Safari 3 - Version: 0.3, 7/29/2007 06:33AM PST

dirk.farkly
Not that you need it, since Safari 3 does Taboo's features automatically, but if you keep the plug in installed it causes a conflict: pages in Safari won't close at all in Safari 3 with the plugin installed, unless you option-click to close the window.

Taboo Reviewwhat the ...? - Version: 0.3, 2/5/2007 01:24PM PST

w/ G3/400, OSX 10.4.8, Safari 2.0.4 it installs a Saft panel in Safari's prefs, and Safari downloads links instead of loading them. Safari then crashed on quit, and repeatedly failed to reload properly. I had to manually remove the installed bits to restore Safari to working order, after a restart to allow trash empty. I agree, a much-needed function for Safari (hello, Apple?), but what the ...?

Taboo Troubleshooting ReportTaboo doesn't work on Intel machines... - Version: 0.3, 11/29/2006 05:49AM PST

CraigP
It would appear that Taboo isn't a universal binary... so for us dudez with Intel-based Apple loveliness, we're just going to have to remember not to close our web browsers.

To the developer: please please please release a Universal Binary version! Please!

Love it, But..... it doesn't work on my MacBook Pro with Safari 2.0.3. I've used this for a long time, and it's been a god send. I agree with the developer that Apple should have included this in Safari. If I can help in any way to get this up and running again I would be happy to.

Taboo ReviewOne Great Trick - Version: 0.3, 6/1/2006 02:16PM PST

Taboo is so good that I've been tempted to run Safari in Rosetta just to keep this plug-in. No recent reviews so I'll blow the horn. Sometimes I'm too quick for my own good at closing Safari windows with multiple tabs. Taboo saves my tofu. Please give us a Universal update.

The plugin /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/Taboo.bundle (com.ocdev.taboo) is using a deprecated interface to SIMBL. Please contact the appropriate developer (not the SIMBL author) and refer them to http://culater.net/wiki/moin.cgi/CocoaReverseEngineering

I find this a very handy product. However, a few more options, like quit on shutdown option or a quick disable would be nice.

I am currently using OS 10.4.3 and Safari 2.0.2 and it works great. It's simple, very useful, and best of all free.

Taboo Troubleshooting ReportOS 10.4.3's Safari 2.0.2 update broke Taboo - Version: 0.3, 11/6/2005 04:44PM PST

Taboo requires a new version with SIMBL that is compatible with Safari 2.0.2 which was installed with the OS 10.4.3 software update.

It was a great and useful application up through OS 10.4.2 and Safari 2.0.1.

Respectfully, Norm

I used to remove the <Apple><Q> binding from Safari using the developer tools because I had accidentally quit the app a few times with 20 tabs open.

This is a much more convenient solution, plus, it also prevents you from accidentally closing a window with multiple open tabs.
