Emacs CommentaryI'm going to try other fonts and see what happens. - Version: 2005-05-19, 12/27/2008 12:17AM PST

I'm going to try other fonts and see what happens (all monospaced of course). If you want Emacs and don't want to evaluate alternative implementations, just download this, put it wherever you want, and use it.play online games, online game, flash games, free online game, free online games, flash game

Emacs ReviewFine, convenient, no problems - Version: 22.0.5, 5/18/2005 09:14AM PST

This is a convenient packaging of the current FSF release, reasonably well integrated with Carbon (though not Aqua, which the standard release shouldn't attempt). It runs fine on Tiger, doesn't require X, contains all the lisp and info files, etc. I'm seeing some font problems where text at the end of a line disappears or appears in the wrong place -- I'm going to try other fonts and see what happens (all monospaced of course). If you want Emacs and don't want to evaluate alternative implementations, just download this, put it wherever you want, and use it.

Emacs Troubleshooting ReportIs this Tiger-only? - Version: 22.0.5, 5/6/2005 09:03AM PST

I can't get it to launch under 10.3.9... is this version Tiger-only? When I double click on it, I get the ghost effect as if it's going to launch, but nothing happens... Activity Monitor shows no Emacs process.

I appreciate your work to compile a Tiger-compatible, Carbon emacs that is just plain, old emacs and works like an emacs user would expect it to!

Emacs ReviewNot an official release, and nothing special - Version: 22.0.5, 5/5/2005 10:53AM PST

Sorry but this doesn't really add value. This is FSF's Carbon Emacs and just a binary distribution of it. We don't need yet another one of these.

Besides, there's no official release yet of the new version - what we get here is a mere development snapshot with all sorts of issues.

For a real Emacs distro that provides a good, Mac-like user interface and that works on OS X 10.3 as well as 10.4, check out AquaMacs. Or look for 'yaced', which is also a well-maintained port that works on Tiger.
