Synergy Advance ReviewNice app, but ... - Version: 0.4b3, 4/4/2006 12:07PM PST

Whaddya know. It seems that Wincent has managed to launch the app without crashing now. But really, what is the point. The market is flooded with free iTunes controllers, some of them excellent. The time when anyone could charge for an itunes controller, no matter how good, is simply over.

Synergy was a nice idea at the time, and for $5 me and many others bought it. But it's 2006 and there is simply no need for a new iTunes controller, least of all one costing over 12 US dollars! The final nail in the coffin is that Wincent has not even said what this new version will offer over and above the still very usable Synergy. No new features, more than double the price, a huge range of good, free, alternatives - can someone tell me what is the point? Rumor has it that the only reason for the new product is to strengthen product licensing. And we have to PAY for that do we?

So sorry Wincent, we all loved synergy but there is no point to this software. You know how to write great apps, small and efficient and well-designed that everyone loves. But the world does NOT need another itunes controller and for this price you can forget it, honestly. Go think of a new idea and apply your skills to that and that's when you'll be getting my money.

Summary: Pointless, too expensive, many good free alternatives, and simply far, far too late

Wouldn't work, crashed right away! Would rate this a zero if I Could. Has anyone got this to work out in the real world? How can you release something that can't be used and want money for it. Heads should role on this one.
