Product Description:

Sync Entourage-iCal 2 [TIGER] synchronizes Entourage 2004 and iCal in OS 10.4 (Tiger). It allows you to maintain Entourage as your centralized Personal Information Manager while at the same time taking advantage of the direct access provided to iSync, iChat, iPod, .Mac online, and more by OS X's iCal. Almost all Entourage fields sync to iCal and back, with any unmapped fields recorded in event Notes. You can also sync Entourage reminders to iCal alarms, including Email alarms, with various options for retaining or suppressing duplicate reminders. You can keep both applications in constant synchronization by running the script at any time, or automatically every night if you wish. There is a separate version Sync Entourage-iCal (Panther) on this site for use in OS 10.3.

What's new in this version:

v2.0.8 is a free update to any v2.x.

NEW in v2.0.8
  • Fixes buggy 0-repeating recurring events substituted for non-recurring events in Entourage when reminders are removed from Entourage events synced to iCal with alarms, and works faster for Entourage 11.2 and later.
  • Applies removal of Entourage reminders (when this preference is chosen) also to tasks (except recurring tasks - see ReadMe. section 8. Operation ).
  • Allows for reminders/alarms of 0 minutes in Entourage 11.2 and later.
  • Also fixes an obscure bug in PREFS Installer ("entScriptsFolderPath is not defined" for installing Run Sync-iCal Script in system script menu when Finder scripting fails).
  • ReadMe and PREFS Installer have descriptions of Recurring Tasks issue.
  • NOTE: Instructions for Exchange account usage with Entourage 2004 11.2 in the ReadMe, section 4. Set Up.

New features in v2.0 for Tiger:
  • Works in Tiger (OS 10.4).
  • Now syncs task/todo notes.
  • Now syncs reminders/alarms directly.
  • Now syncs Entourage notes to iCal attendees (as well as vice-versa as before).
  • Now syncs colors of categories/calendars when making new ones.
  • This update is needed for syncing all-day events accurately in iCal 2.0 (Tiger).
  • New Tiger iSync and Sync Services do not omit modification dates when making events in iCal, so synching is fully reliable.

All these new features in v2.0 have been made possible by the improved AppleScript implementation in iCal 2.0 in Tiger.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Microsoft Entourage 2004
  • Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger
  • iCal 2.0 or higher (comes with Tiger)
  • Tiger Compatible

Sync Entourage-iCal 2 (Tiger) ReviewI cannot believe I paid for this - Version: 2.0.9, 12/9/2007 11:01AM PST

erikocc
I had looked all over for a entourage to ical sync program, and finally, i found this script.. i set up the trial, had it syncing all five of my calendars perfectly.
i was all sweet, i'll pay the $19(expensive!) for this, i plan to keep it in use for quite some time.
i bought it from kagi or whatever that site is, i got the activation code, put it in... ta-da! no working!
the script refused the activation code i had gotten in the email. i tried everything.. cutting and pasting it, typing it, all kinds of things, it never accepted it.
now the trial is over, and i am stuck with this $19 thing that is absolutely unusable, i wouldnt even pass it on to someone that could get use out of it...
thanks alot for a big load of nothing

i have emailed berkowit28@mac.com three times in three weeks and have never gotten a reply. DO NOT spend your money on this until he learns to support the things he makes money off.

Sync Entourage-iCal 2 (Tiger) ReviewStill needed - Version: 2.0.9, 12/29/2006 10:01PM PST

Yes, you can use the E2004 prefs to sync your calendar data to iCal. But it all goes into the one category in the latter. No good if you have to use iCal to publish one or more separate calendars. This is the only way to get the data synced. Slow as molasses on the first run but good after that. Writing the code for this stuff is damn complex. Thanks Paul

Sync Entourage-iCal 2 (Tiger) ReviewSo, sync services were added... - Version: 2.0.8, 3/24/2006 06:00AM PST

And still there's no progress. It seems that sync services in Entourage have been added by a bunch of the same monkeys which are hard at work creating random Shakespeare books.
However, this ustility is also very, very poor. You would think that writing an intuitive program would be...say, intuitive process. Apparently, not so. For some of the developers, writing an intuitive program is something that others do.
This app is slow, hard to manage, corrupts data and best of all - you can't choose what to sync, or at least I wasn't able to find that setting. Oh, yes, how about MERGING calendars? Wow, you didin't think about that? WOW!
