Product Description:

Dash Monitors is a Widget that runs under Mac OS X Tiger's new Dashboard functionality. Dash Monitors displays a graphic summary of your system resource usage. It shows what percentage of CPU time is being used, the amount of memory in use, the speed at which the machine is transferring or receiving data over the network, and the speed the machine is reading and writing to local disk volumes. Currently, Dash Monitors is the only system resource monitor that runs in the Dashboard, and is great for users who would like to run a system monitor but do not want to sacrifice any screen real-estate while working.

What's new in this version:

Some key updates to Dash Monitors 1.2 include:
  • Several interface improvements to the widget, including an updated background and layout.

    Dash Monitors Commentary1.3 is corrupt - Version: 1.3u, 7/30/2005 06:15PM PST

the 1.3 download file is bad. It expands to a zero size file... however, if you look inside using Terminal, you'll see some filenames beginning with a period, so they're invisible, but even after changing the filenames, looking at the .html and .js code, the file is still missing all of the image files/etc.

This is a complete resource hog. I was on the verge of reinstalling the OS when I realize that all of my processor cycles were being taken by this little beast. I had all of the graphical displays turned off. Any amount of money you pay for this is too much. I rarely comment on software in this forum, but this widget is bad enough that I though I would chime in.

Even in text mode, this thing uses like 6-10% of the processor. I just want a simple, small cpu monitor that uses VERY little resources. I've been using amnesty as a replacement for konfabulator, but I have started using both now so I can just use konfab's cpu monitor. I thought about paying for this till v.1.2 came out and they changed the look and it seemed to use more processor cycles. I think I'll wait till someone makes something better...
