The Stone Studio Widget is a Dashboard plugin that looks like a swiss army knife. It has buttons to quickly launch any of the Stone Works apps as well as Stone's new video processing powerhouse, Videator. It has buttons to quickly get help from Stone, visit the forum, go to the online tutorials, as well as other features.

    Imagine every software developer producing a widget that launches their application. If they want to do that, they can include the widget in their distribution. But it is unacceptable to polute the software listings on VT or MU with kind of nonsense.

    A widget to launch aps seems like an unnecessarily complex solution to an easy problem. Isn't a widget to launch aps called the "Dock"?

    A widget should REDUCE steps in a process, not introduce additional actions from the user... unless you simply want to use a new feature as a free way to advertise.

    Merely because you can, doesn't mean it is a good idea.
