I'm forever grateful and appreciative to the many many coders out there extending and enhancing the Mac experience, but I have to 100% agree that not only is this product overpriced for what it does, it's irrelevant.
To capture an icon to use as an image file simply:
1 Copy it from it's Get Info box
2. Open Preview and Paste from the clipboard (no need to create a New doc)
3. Save out as PMG file.
4. Open that file in Photoshop (etc) and there you'll see the icon as an image with it's alpha channel (aka) transparency in tact at it's full size.

This product needs to find the middle ground between the free Iconverter and the shareware GraphicConverter. The former does icons only and is FREE. The latter is similar price but is so much more, kinda the granddaddy of mac graphics.
I can't see how this software can compete at the same price level as GraphicConverter, at the same time it's probably worth more than Iconverter... Maybe the developer should consider the $10-15 price range instead...

When you decide you don't want this and can't get rid of by following the deinstall instructions, open system preferences and control click the program icon.
