Product Description:

Installation:
Drag the QuikIP program (icon) to your Applications Folder.

Info:
This AppleScript Studio program was created to cut down on the time it takes to check your IP address/host information. While you can go to websites to get the information, some people would like this info on the fly and without the hassle of using a web browser that takes up the whole screen.

To use, you simply open the program, and it will retrieve your IP and Host information. You can use the "Copy All" button to copy all the information displayed to your clipboard so you can just paste it, or you can select and copy the number/info you need, as each is individually selectable.

You can also copy the information via the Information menu item. By selecting a menu item that displays your information (the first four only) that information is copied to your clipboard.

Also included are several network utilities, such as Host, NSLookup, Dig, Whois and Netstat. These are there to give you more information and are located under the separator in the Information menu.

QuikIP is useful if your IP address changes every one in a while, but not enough to warrant a Menu Bar Item, and for people (like me) who can't seem to remember their IP.

Possible Issues:
It would be very much appreciated and helpful if you could give me some feedback or e-mail me at statikplague@hotmail.com or reikonmusha@gmail.com with any problems you may encounter.

Never shows external IP and never returns hostname.

PowerBook 10.3.9, home network linksys WRT54G

Looking at the script the command:
    curl showmyip.com
never returns anything which is odd. No error messages or anything. curl works with other sites.
    wget -O - http://showmyip.com
    returns the page OK.

On iMag G5 running 10.3.9, behind a DSL firewall and on AirPort network, launched QuikIP and it hung. Drew buttons but no color for Close, Minimize, Maximize. Displayed "Retrieving information" for all three lines.
