Password Repository CommentaryPassword Repository vs 1Passsword - Version: 2.5, 10/29/2008 09:59PM PST

For many years I used a similar product called Data Guardian. Data Guardian and Password Repository seem very similar. I've since migrated to 1Password to sore password information and web forms. I like 1Password because it also makes the data available via their web repository and they have an iPhone app that also maintains a copy of the database.

I guess it's down to personal taste, but having tried a few password managers (free and paid-for), I plumped for Password Repository.

Simple, easy-to-use interface and very stable.
Does exactly what I require of it (easy to get information into and out of it.)

Hope to see its continued development.

Password Repository lacks in features and has poor interface design. I downloaded iSafe and found it a lot better and $25 cheaper.

SplashID is $5 cheeper AND it offeres PDA support... without the latter a PW manager is useless.

Without user-definable fields and/or PDA synching it's hard to see what this $25(!) app offers beyond Keychain Access except maybe import/export, which has supposedly improved in Tiger's KA. More feature-rich, lower-priced apps of this kind seem a better value. A bit of market research could benefit the future of this product.
