I downloaded and tried Chowder, thought it was pretty cute and the puzzle levels were fun, and went to the chowdergame.com website to register. When I received my code, it did not work no matter what method I used to enter it. I followed WoM's suggestion regarding re-download of the game. In fact, I eventually downloaded a new copy of Chowder from each of 4 different sources, including WoM's server. The code simply comes up as "not valid" every time.
My first email to chowderhelp@womgames.com was ignored. My second email, copied to help@womgames.com, was answered, but the respondent did not want to acknowledge that there might be a problem with the game itself. Instead s/he suggested that I try pasting in the code (I had, many times) or that I pay careful attention when typing it in to avoid confusing lower-case L characters with the number 1 (neither of which were part of my code, which was present in the quoted text of my email). If I had further trouble, s/he said, I should call them in California at their local (non-toll-free) number.
I replied that I had tried every method possible to enter the code and suggested that the problem might be some incompatibility with my system configuration. I offered to assist by sending whatever system information they thought would help, and said I was angered by their suggestion that I call them long-distance to try to enter the code while on the phone with them, as if that would make any difference.
The reply I got today was the last straw.
"Hi:
Your code is a good code. When entering your code make sure that there is nothing else in the entry box other than the 20 character code.
Sincerely,
The Snood Store Team"
Again they refused to acknowledge that my problem was due to their software, nor did they accept my offer of assistance. I am now requesting a refund of my registration fee, and suggest that others avoid this game until the registration issue is addressed.
