Do not underestimate Graph Sketcher. There are no words to describe how good it is. Just because it is uncomplicated and affordable does not mean it is not very powerful and useful with an intuitive interface. This is the sort of software that Apple Mac was made for.
If you are an academic with a Mac you can do yourself more than a favour by trying Graph Sketcher and discovering how you can use its simple but excellent capabilities to strengthen your communications. It can be great teaching aid.
You would easily spend 10 times its cost if a company Adobe or Microsoft ever managed to think of and develop anything like Graph Sketch.
I wish they would add more types of graphing capability (using a free hand input to translate into pie charts and bar graphs) to make it even more useful.

It's limited in it's capabilities, but what it does it does well. Easy to learn, nice interface, even does linear curve fitting. Also exports to PDF and JPG nicely. It isn't for sophisticated plotting, but for simple stuff it's great.
Great example of effective use of the Mac interface to make complicated tasks fast and intuitive.
You can insert relevant points by drawing rather than inputing coordinates--though you can input or import the numbers too if you want. (This is not an equation grapher, though.)
Shading under or between curves or adjusting shape and curvature can be tedious in other programs. All amazingly easy to do here.
Some features, such as the ability to change the pixel dimensions of the graph, aren't well documented. It turns out you just drag the size of the window to the size you want before exporting graph. The program is filled with simple but powerful touches like that.
Highly recommended.
