Product Description:

mlnet is a multi-network P2P client. Previously known as mldonkey, it's been the heart inside some other packages, as mlMac and xDonkey. Supporting Linux, BSD, Solaris, MacOSX and Win32. It works as a core, which can be accesed, managed and controlled via Telnet, Webb (with your favorite browser) or via a graphic interface (Sancho GUI is included). Its multi-net support actually covers the following networks:
  • eDonkey 2000

Editor's Notes:

If you get a page of gibberish when downloading this file, option-click on the download link. This method will result in a file that ends in ".bz2.txt." In the Finder, delete the ".txt" ending and keep the change, so the file ends in ".bz2", and open the file as you would a normal download.

mlnet core Troubleshooting Reportmlnet broken in Tiger? - Version: 2.5.30-2, 6/11/2005 04:55PM PST

Mango
Since upgrading to 10.4.1 (Tiger), I have not been able to get any version of mlnet or mldonkey working. Trying to start the core of mlnet gives me the following error message in Sancho:

"localhost:4001 does not accept connections (core not found), try again?"

Does mlnet need an upgrade for it to work in Tiger?

mlnet core Usage TipA GUI for Sancho - Version: 2.5.30, 4/7/2005 04:05PM PST

Wing_Master (WingMaster)
For the users that prefer a GUI Application, you can try Sancho. Download the Mac Version from http://sancho-gui.sourceforge.net/download.phtml

For using it, simply open Sancho AFTER launching the mlnet core.

I've been talking with the developer of Sancho, and it'll be included with the next release of the mlnet core package, that will be released in one or two weeks.

One recomendation for Sancho. You can "link" a core to the GUI in Sancho's prefs. This may be a bad idea, because closing the GUI implies also closing the core.
