UMTS and GPRS are the way (in large parts of the world) to connect a laptop, PDA or mobile phone to the Internet or your company IP network through the mobile network in a way similar to DSL lines.

The UMTS+GPRS4MacOS diskimage contains all it needs to complete the UMTS or GPRS dataconnection setup on your Mac.

Quickstart: can connect from the second a pc-card is inserted
Improved the handling of non-compliant behaviour of OPTION card

Additional Requirements:

UMTS or GPRS enabled mobile phone or PCMCIA card and a connection between the two
typically a cable or bluetooth. Don't forget the servicecontract of your mobile network provider. Works under all versions of OSX (and OS 7-9.x
but without support). Tiger compatible.

This is great! It just works. The support is amazingly fast and efficient, just the manual could be a bit more detailed for amateur users - that would save some support questions.
Btw, I have used Mobile High Speed for a number of years but I never really liked it, it is difficult and cumbersome to get to work - although I always found a solution - but I don´t like the concept of changing network location settings etc. In the early stages it was the only app which frequently made my Mac crash.
So I am glad to have a replacement!!!

I have been fighting with my novotel gprs/umts card for ovver a month, bought some expensive software and coulnd't get it to work. Installed this software and everything worked like a charm. I am very grateful!

I just used this to connect my unlocked Vodafone Mobile Connect PC Card to the o2 mobile network in the UK and it work fantasticly! I highly recommend this software, I'm going to be dumping the Mobile High Speed software for this, since its free and less complicated.
