Product Description:

MobileUserSync is a backup tool allowing for Home Folder backup to a remote server or local Volume using the rsync protocol. With enterprise/education features such as mass deployment and configuration and Backup Administrator notification it can perform well in most any environment.

It is equally at home backing up your home computer to your work computer, as it is being used to sync 500 local Mac Users to their Network Home directories in an enterprise or education environment.

Scheduled Idle Time Syncing is now a prominent new feature! You can now specify a time frame (e.g. 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) for MobileUserSync to check for system idle time and initialte a backup session if the machine has been idle for more than 15 Minutes.

Syncs are still initiated on each logout, and every user on a single computer can have their own set of MobileUserSync preferences. Preferences specify whether or not to backup that user, what exactly to backup and what to exclude. Administrators have granular control over exactly what is to be backed up and excluded for each user, while the GUI interface is useful for a novice to advanced user.

MobileUserSync ReviewThis software did EXACTLY what I needed it to do!!! - Version: 1.2, 11/4/2005 12:35PM PST

The only problem I ever had with this piece of software was using version 1.1.3 to back-up to a Tiger server. I didn't realize it wasn't Tiger compatible yet and when I contacted the developer he responded immediately that a Tiger version was on it's way shortly.Out came version 1.2 and it's been smooth sailing ever since!
I recognized a limitation when I tried to sync a mounted volume on a clients machine but when I e-mailed Scott he (again immediately) responded that it only worked with items in the home folder. He also gave me a solution to my problem by creating a symbolic link to the volume in question with instructions on how to do it.
I can't say enough about the product or the developer. Great product and even better service. Thanks Scott!!

After selecting 'I'm agree' under the GNU license agreement, clicking 'proceed' does nothing! A pity, because it seems to be very useful for we that comes and go from our desktop needing to have with us all the most recent changes!
