Product Description:
OOSearch is a full text search program for OpenOffice.org files. It opens all OpenOffice.org files in a specified directory or volume and searches for a given keyword. The found files can be opened via OOSearch directly. OOSearch is a Cocoa Application written in Java and runs on Mac OS X 10.2 and 10.3. Supported file formats are OpenOffice.org 1.0 texts (.sxw), spreadsheets (.sxc), presentations (.sxi), and drawings (.sxd). The OpenDocuments formats of the upcoming OpenOffice.org 2.0 are also supported. These are OpenDocument texts (.odt), spreadsheets (.ods), presentations (.odp), and drawings (.odg). At the moment the supported languages are English and German.
What's new in this version:
- Support for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger
- An XML parser is used to read in the files
- Icons in the path list
- A new column "Type" shows the type of the file with its icon
- A pop-up menu allows you to open a file with either its default application or in the Finder
- Fixed some bugs

I downloaded this in order to open .odt files I have and which I cannot read cuz OO1.x wont run on MacOSX 10.4 , OO2.x is not available yet and and NeoOffice is HELL slow (even on a 2GHz G5). So I treid to use this piece of Soft in order to get the content of these files, copy paste them into some 'normal' application and get rid of OO at last. In the description it says: "It opens all OpenOffice.org files ... files can be opened via OOSearch directly.", this is simply NOT true. It does NOT open anyting :-L
