PSPWare ReviewAgree is appears dead - Version: 2.5.2, 10/29/2008 02:23AM PST

Ian Watkinson
Very little has happened on the product in a while. The conversion process is still woefully slow, much slower than ffmpegx for example.

There are never any release notes to tell you what's changed, so apart from the version going up, I can't see what's improved in the last 2 months.

I bought the product in the hope that this would lead to improved development, but it does seem that things have whilst not gone down hill, at least haven't improved hugely.

PSPWare ReviewIt Works For Me! - Version: 2.5.2, 7/1/2008 06:36PM PST

It totally eliminated my frustration in trying to figure out how to encode video that would be acceptable on my PSP 2000. The program is simple, easy and quick. It handles sync'ing on multiple memory cards. I certainly hope the program is at end of life, because I haven't found anything I like more.

PSPWare CommentaryDo not buy - this product is dead - Version: 2.5.2, 2/10/2008 12:00AM PST

Beware - version 2.5.2 still sports the same build number as 2.5.1 and I fear its only purpose is to convince potential buyers this products is still under development.

Please read <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/php/feedback/article.php?story=20070216130347446">this thread on the 2.5.1 discussion</a>.

PSPWare ReviewUnable to get major features to work - Version: 2.5.2, 1/19/2008 12:00AM PST

I have been having major problems with the drop box feature. This feature is suppose to work with photos and movies already converted to a suitable format. Photos are not synced at all, and movies are sent to a location that means they are not listed as movies buy the PSP. This might have something to do with the fact that the PSPWare software has a drop box that allows you to select the version of the software sunning on your PSP. It has option for version 1 and version 2, but my PSP is running version 3.

I have submitted many requests for support, but I have received no response. I feel I have wasted my registration fee and would not recommend registering this software.

PSPWare ReviewDoesn't save movies! - Version: 2.5.1, 5/16/2007 03:52PM PST

When I put a movie into the "Movies" area, it'll convert them fine. However, when I relaunch PSPWare, the movies are gone! If I go to the finder into "Documents/PSPWare" the movies are in there. Buggy!

Dear customers,

It has been brought to our attention that several users did not receive replies to support requests. We are working on ironing out any such issues and we have taken steps to improve our technical support services. We receive many requests daily, including ones that require numerous replies and it has been difficult for us to reply within the same day. We are developing a new system to help us ensure faster support and we are also hiring additional support staff. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers. Please understand that we are a growing company and we will be doing our best to provide our services to you.

If you have not received a reply via technical support, please e-mail me directly at: mrogov@nullriver.com and I will do my best to help you get any issues resolved quickly.

Further, there have been rumors of Nullriver Software having stopped developing PSPWare -- I assure you this is incorrect. We are in fact working on a major update for PSPWare and adding support for the PS3 (you heard it here first!). Please, in the future, refer to our web site for updates on our products and company and not forums where misinformation is often spread. PSPWare at its current stage is a very popular and highly rated product. We believe we have a good working milestone out right now, and that is why there are no current minor updates. We are working on bigger updates.

Thank you for your attention,

Maksim Rogov
President
Nullriver, Inc.

I tried the PSPWARE, liked it and decided to register. A serial number was mailed to me, however it was *not* working! Despite numerous e-mails, phonecalls and even faxe's I still don't have a working serial key! Company seems to be completely dead!

*Do not* register and pay this company any money before they fix their registration procedure!

PSPWare Troubleshooting ReportTV show purchased on iTunes - Version: 2.5.1, 11/14/2006 04:30PM PST

Can someone tell me how (or if it's possible) to use PSPWare to allow me to watch, on my PSP, a TV show I purchased on iTunes? PSPWare touts its abilities to sync with iTunes, but I'm missing something--if, again, it's possible. The show is an MP4 so my little brain assumes that, in theory anyway, it shouldn't be a problem...

PSPWare ReviewOld dog hasn't learned new tricks. - Version: 2.5.1, 10/28/2006 03:40PM PST

As a registered user, when it started I was pleasantly surprised by how frequent and how often the product was updated and new features added.

However it's now close to abandonware, as very little has be done to it for ages.

It falls down for several reasons.

You need to attach your psp for it to convert movies. Need to convert 3 weeks of movies? Say good bye to your psp for three weeks. It won't transfer them for three weeks, but bizarrely won't convert them without it being attached.

It also doesn't deal well with multiple memory cards, or trying to fit movies to more than one card.

The conversion takes a long time, far longer than programs like popcorn2 take for the same movie. Popcorn 2 also manages to convert better quality images for smaller file sizes as well.

Save your money, buy something else and show the developer that he needs to finish a product before moving on to other projects.

All in all a flawed gem, never finshed, which is a shame as it showed much promise to start with.

The only program you'll need to make the most of you're Mac-to-PSP lifestyle. Mac software that looks and acts like Mac software. Intuitive, beautiful, familiar ... I love it!
