This looks like it could be useful, but unfortunately it seems very unstable. I have file searching turned on, in addition to the program database searches. I got a crash on only my third or fourth search after first starting the program. There's an example crash report in "Other System Info" for this VT report. (Note that the crash dialog doesn't display when PocketLight crashes.)

I installed this a few minutes ago and so far it seems pretty nice. Sure, Spotlight may blow this away when Tiger is released, but until then (and for those who won't or can't upgrade) this is pretty handy. I like the fact that a name turned up in Address Book shows the phone number. This is going to be very useful for me.
I know the developer says that there will be no additions to this, but I implore them to do a couple things:
-add a preference to remove the menubar icon (mine is cluttered as it is and prefer to just keep the hotkey active).
-make the app able to be hidden even when the dock icon is turned off. The only way I saw to accomplish this was if it was launched as a startup item. Launched normally, I couldn't hide it.
One of my computers is an older G4 that I really don't think will work well with Tiger. It's not very fast with Panther, so I don't intend to upgrade it further. This is why I'd like to see these few tweaks to PocketLight. I'm sure there are others in the same boat.
