Product Description:

Trebuchet Tk is a client program for connecting to TinyMU* and MOO style social MUD servers on the Internet. It'll also work with combat oriented MUDs like LPMUD and Diku, but it's not targeted at them.

Trebuchet is designed to be a GUI MUD client that is both easy to use, and as powerful as the text based TinyFugue client. It also supports the MCP-GUI server-side dialog protocols.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed: Menubar toggle items weren't showing state indicator.
  • Fixed: hanging bug when deleting chars to make \ the last char on the line.
  • Fixed: If you have too many worldbuttons, they now show in multiple rows.
  • Added: Spelling checker, if you have aspell or ispell installed.
  • Added: Initial screen has commonly asked about default keyboard hints.
  • Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

    • Mac OS X 10.3

    Additional Requirements:

    • Mac OS X 10.3 or later

Trebuchet Troubleshooting ReportSo can this thing handle regexes, etc? - Version: 1.070, 1/24/2006 08:50PM PST

I already know the mud I play has a set result for using a semicolon; they actively tell you that you can use it to string two or more commands together quickly.

But I think I saw someone mention it earlier, does this thing recognize regexes or anything else?

Looks awesome, I think I'll be switching to it anyway.

Trebuchet ReviewGood enough... for some - Version: 1.066, 3/18/2005 02:22AM PST

First of all, its Java - so don't expect a fast combat-oriented app. Author actually says it straight - its meant for chat.

Second, its actually rather feature-full, though not as good and polished as those back in Rapscallion. Its in active development though and you can expect improvements.

Now what I don't llke about it. First: lack of "folders" in all trigger/alias/etc lists, unlike Rapscallion. My system tends to get too crowded to put it all in one list!

Second, I could not make it substitute any text caught - it highlights in a number of ways, gags, but does not substitute?

Third, I didn't see any scripting capabilities, no variables, no timers... Sucks for elaborate Achaea-like combat.

Aside from the above, good enough... for some.
